The cathedral of Venzone was devastated in during the major earthquakes in the Friuli region in 1973. The church was rebuilt from it rubble ruins, but the building shows it scars on every wall plane. The vaults over the nave and the tower were never rebuilt. A large section of the tower is on the ground, in situ, where it fell.
